Farms

“I have identified agriculture as a way to deal with broad based economic development right across the country, not just for the adults in the city but also to deal with malnutrition and food security. It also deals with unemployment which is real because it creates unrest.”
President Julius Maada Bio (Sierra Leone)

The Hope and Kindness fish farm is a testament to our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and community empowerment. This is not just a farm; it’s a forward-looking project that points to a greener, more self-sufficient future for Kosele.

A Green Model for Food Production
Our farm produces Tilapia fingerlings for local fish farmers who raise them in cages on Lake Victoria. What makes our project unique is its commitment to environmental stewardship:

  • Solar Powered: The entire operation runs on clean, renewable solar energy.

  • Aquaponics: We use innovative aquaponics techniques to maintain pristine water quality. This closed-loop system is a model of efficiency and environmental care.

  • Local Employment: The farm provides full-time, skilled employment for two members of the local community.

By demonstrating and sharing these green techniques, we are empowering local farmers to increase their yields sustainably, improving both the local economy and food security.

Fish Farm

We are very excited about our fish farm (click on the video below to see it in action!)

It is our first major step in generating income for our work ‘on the ground’ in Kenya.

Farming God's Way

Depending on rain-fed agriculture presents huge challenges in our community (and much of sub-Saharan Africa.) Farming God’s Way is a proven method of improving crop yields; it works with nature rather than against it.

Church Farm

Our church farm is a proving ground for new approaches to farming, and has given the ladies in our church an opportunity to grow food for church members struggling to feed their families and make a profit from farming for themselves. Win Win!

A Green Revolution

"Smallholder agriculture is the next engine of transformation for Africa."

These words of Dr. Agnes Kalibata inspire us to do all that we can to help farmers in our community farm more successfully.

Leading change and encouraging innovation is always challenging – especially in risk averse communities who struggle every day with the effects of poverty.

Investment in agriculture is key to the future development of Africa.

Please help us to continue our innovative agribusiness projects in Kosele which provide employment and bring hope to the community.

Please support our work in Kenya. ALL donations make a difference.
