Church

A Growing Church for a Growing Community
“So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.” – Galatians 6:10

Planted in 2002, the Hope and Kindness church is now a vibrant, self-sustaining body of believers, led by faithful Kenyan members. It is the spiritual heartbeat of our work, providing a place of worship, discipleship, and practical support for all ages.

Nurturing the Next Generation
Our Sunday School and Youth Group provide a safe, fun, and spiritually enriching environment for children and teenagers to learn about Jesus and build strong moral foundations for their lives.

Empowering Men and Women
The church’s Men’s and Women’s Groups are powerful engines of community transformation. Together, they work on conservation agriculture projects using the “Farming God’s Way” method on land provided by Hope and Kindness. This Biblically-based, sustainable approach:

  • Increases crop yields and family food security.

  • Empowers members with valuable skills.

  • Teaches stewardship of God’s creation.

Practical Love in Action
The church lives out its faith through small group fellowship and hands-on projects, such as building and repairing houses for members in need. This practical demonstration of love strengthens the entire community.

Community of Faith

We hadn’t planned to start a church in 2002 – but we thank God that we did! Our church is an anchor in our church members’ lives. Our ladies’ group, men’s group, youth church and Sunday school make up a big family. Our God IS a great big God, and we know that He holds us in His hands.

Developing a 'Sticky Faith'

We think of ‘sticky faith’ as a faith that that will stay with our young people as they take their journey through life. Life, with all its challenges, is never easy. ‘Sticky faith’ is a superpower that we believe will enable our young people to overcome all of the challenges they will face.

Suffer the Little Children!

Jesus said “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Jesus made it clear that children matter, and we have a responsibility to make sure they all know that they are part of a loving church family.

God of the Poor

A prayer for the world

Many faith based organisations are on the frontline in the fight against poverty. We all have one item on our agenda – expressed in one line from the Lord’s Prayer. “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

Hope and Kindness exists to put flesh on the bones of that prayer. The scripture painted on our church wall says, “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” (John 13:35 NLT)

The love that we show to each other is the key to the kingdom coming.

The Bible contains some of the most famous words ever written about what we do!

1 Corinthians:13 says:

“Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.”
