Hope and Kindness is not an external helper; we are deeply integrated into the fabric of the Kosele community. Our work is an expression of Christian compassion and a commitment to walking alongside our neighbours, especially in times of greatest need, just as the Bible commands us to care for the poor and vulnerable.
Jesus said, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ Matt-22-38″ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ (Matthew 22:37-39 The Message)
Walking Through Crises, Building Stability
Our community support extends far beyond the schools and church:
-
Housing Stability: We provide practical assistance by offering rental housing, and actively building and repairing damaged houses for families experiencing housing crises. This stability is critical for enabling families to get back on their feet.
-
Food Assistance: We ensure that the most vulnerable families are cared for, particularly:
-
During school holidays, when the pupils miss the daily school meals.
-
During times of drought, when food insecurity strikes the neediest families.
-
Our model is holistic—a hand up, not just a handout—providing the practical support that allows individuals and families to regain dignity and hope.
This support provides stability, prevents disaster, and shows our community that they are not forgotten.
